The sex scene is so notorious that the rest of the film seems pointless. As a colorful and sexy film, "Diavolo in corpo" is definitely nice to look at. But it's far from convincing when it comes to creating an intriguing universe; Bellocchio sets up the plot in an exciting way, but consequentally fails to merge sex and politics to make the film and its characters become interesting objects.
